Number 1 seed of the 27th Open 13 Provence, Stefanos Tsitsipas defeated Mickhail Kukushkin 7/5 7/6(5) in 1h58. The Greek picked up his second career title after Stockholm in 2018.
After his semi-final victory, Stefanos Tsitsipas announced that he still could elevate his level of play for the final. He knew that it was a necessity to face off with Kukushkin.
The tournament number 1 seed displayed his desire to take control of the match as soon as the first balls were exchanged. Both servers held they're own. It was not until 6-5 that the Greek managed to capture his opponents serve as well as the 1st set.
In the second set, Kukushkin lifted his level and managed to break while being up 3/2. But at 4-5, Tsitsipas managed to break back. He then went up 6-5. Kukushkin equalized 6-6. But in the tie breaker, the Greek proves why he has been performing all week. A few minutes later, he was lifting the second trophy of his career.
