It’s semifinals day at the 2022 Open 13 Provence.
The first of the two matches will be a first matchup between Frenchman and crowd favorite without a doubt Benjamin Bonzi and Andrey Rublev. The latter is clearly favorite to come up with the win. However, Bonzi is playing the best tennis of his life, and when playing in front of his family, who lives minutes away from the stadium is able to perform like no where else. Rublev will have to be very careful versus a third Frenchman this week.
The second semifinal will also be a first match up at tour level between Felix Auger-Aliassime and Russian Cinderella story Roman Safiullin out of qualies. The Canadian will be looking to extend his winning streak to 7 thanks to his 2 wins here and the 5 that he clocked in last week in Rotterdam which allowed him to capture the trophy.
Rublev and FAA should be in the final for a repeat of last weeks semi-final in Rotterdam. However logic is not worth much in sports. If you doubt the previous statement, just ask Tsitsipas and Karatsev what they think of it.
