Herbert defeats Nishikori
French man Pierre-Hugues Herbert is through to the second round. The 93rd player in the world overcame the likes of Japanese superstar Kein Nishikori. The first set was a formality. Herbert was on his game, almost zoning whereas Nishikori produced the exact opposite. The contest became tighter in the second set, but Herbert had no intention in playing a third. Both servers held their own At 4-4, Herbert decided to accelerate, which was all he needed to break the Japanese and confirm the break right after.
In order to reach the quarter finals, Herbert will have to either beat French man Constant Lestienne out of qualies or Cameron Norrie of Great Britain.
