SODERLING GETS REVENGE

After last years loss to Llodra in the quarters, Robine Soderling wanted revenge, and revenge is what he got even if the Swede did not expect it to be so easy. After defending 4 break points in the first game, it was all uphill for Robin. Llodra on the other hand took the exact opposite path. The Frenchman was a lost soul on the court. He even tried a Michael Chang underhand serve which finished in the net.
Final score 6-1 6-4

MAHUT CLOSE BUT NO CIGAR

In the match opposing the first seed of the tournament, Robin Soderling to the tournament wild card Nicolas Mahut, it is the favorite that came out on top. In the first set no breaks were conceded and it is in the tie breaker that things were decided. Mahut had two set points, but both on the Soderling serve. Enough said.
In the second a pair of breaks were exchanged and it was once again in the breaker that push came to shove. Up 5-2 and serving, Mahut was in the drivers seat to tie the match at one set each. That was without counting on the quality of Soderlings return. The Frenchman would not score another point.
Final score 7-6(8) 7-6(5).
In the quarters, Soderling will match-up with Llodra for a revenge of last years match.

LLODRA VERY PRO

A break in each set was all Llodra needed to get the best of Tobias Kamke of Germany 6-3 6-4. Need it be reminded that Llodra is the title holder and therefore the repeat is still alive. For that, the Frenchman will probably have to get by a wall called Soderling. But that was not a problem for Mika last year...
