In the first set no breaks were conceded and it is in the tie breaker that things were decided. Mahut had two set points, but both on the Soderling serve. Enough said. In the second a pair of breaks were exchanged and it was once again in the breaker that push came to shove. Up 5-2 and serving, Mahut was in the drivers seat to tie the match at one set each. That was without counting on the quality of Soderlings return. The Frenchman would not score another point. Final score 7-6(8) 7-6(5).
