NIck Kyrgios prevails in hte final of the Open 13 Provence by defeating Marin Cilic 6-2 7-6.
Ironically it is the more experienced of the two players that seemed more nervous on court. At serve in the first game Cilic was already defending two break points. At one all, same story except this time it wasn't two but five break points that the Croat needed to defend. The first four were saved but not the fifth. Cilic under extreme pressure down two to four, needed to come up with the goods but was unable. In fact it is just the opposite that happened when Kyrgios went up double break to lead five to two. The luv game that followed gave the Australian a one set lead.
In the second set the level of play was equal. Both players served up a storm and aside from a handfull of aces there was not much to be said up to 5-4 Cilic and Kyrgios on serve. It was then that the Croatian picked up his first break point of the match. But with two first sereve winners and an ace the score was quickly 5 all. The tie breaker that followed went in favor of the more agressive and audacious of the two players : Nick Kyrgios.
The Australian picks up, at the Open 13 Provence the first title of his career but certainly not the last.
