MATHIEU STILL NOT AT LEVEL

Paul-Henri Mathieu, 417th in the world, was beaten in three sets 7-6, 2-6, 6-3 by Slovak Karol Beck. After dropping the first set in a tie-breaker, Mathieu quickly jumped ahead in the second with a double break advantage and leveled the match at one set apiece. In the final set, the Frenchman declared "lacking of energy" which can be explained from his year and half sideline due to his knee injury. Luckily for him he will quickly forget his loss as his wife is on the verge of giving birth to their baby boy.
